Strong Interest in the Career Start Trade Fair
Crowded halls, exciting conversations: After a one-year break due to covid-19, the Dresden training fair Karrierestart started today - and we are right in the middle of it. You can feel the great need for information and the interest of the young people who are looking for the right path to their professional future. Perhaps this path will lead them directly to us here in Hellerau, Dresden.
Our apprentice joiner Anne, who will be demonstrating her abilities at the workbench at the fair, shows that working in our production can be equally exciting for men and women. As a second-year apprentice, she effortlessly masters the basics of the trade and is crafting a devil's knot. Every millimetre counts in this wooden logic game. Fascinating for the fair visitors and no problem for Anne, who has already been active on our interior outfitting projects during her practical phases. Just recently, she spent a few days repairing furniture on board a yacht in the south of France.
Anne started her training with us at the age of 30. That seems unusual. But in our selection process for the ten apprenticeships per year, talent, a sincere interest in the craft, and skill are the deciding factors. More than 120 young people apply every year.
If you want to know exactly how the apprenticeship works, you are very welcome to visit us at stand C-15 in Hall 2 up to and including Sunday. Further information is also available in our website career section or directly and easily from our colleagues in the human resources department on +49 351 21590 372. They are also the ideal contacts for further training and career paths in our company.
In addition to apprenticeships in Business Studies and IT/System Integration, we also offer various dual courses of study. Our collaboration with the Dresden University of Cooperative Education, which trains wood technicians, has grown intensively over the years. We are also a practical partner in the Business Administration - Industry course of study.
For positions in the technical professions, internships or other previous experience in the craft sector, preferably with other companies, are an advantage - but not a must.
And if you are not necessarily drawn to the big city of Dresden, you might be more attracted to our production site in Großröhrsdorf, Upper Lusatia. We take on up to two apprentice joiners as well as one or two students on the wood and wood materials technology course each year.
