restless brush syndrome
Paintings by DAG
In 2024 another Berlin artist will be our guest in the Werkstättengalerie. Dieter Balzer’s exhibition will be followed by DAG Przybilla’s Vernissage on 24 January - this will bring a completely different atmosphere to the impressive gallery space with his densely woven paintings and airy, almost graphic compositions.
DAG's paintings are created in series. In the latest paintings, lines stagger, intersect, overlap, and are superimposed, forming alliances and dissonances. They entice the gaze to make its own explorations in the areas of light and shade. They could be anything: a bit of an object, a bit of a notion, spirits, niches, traces, necessary clouds. "Subversion must create its own chiaroscuro" (Roland Barthes in The Pleasure of the Text, 1976).
